In 1813 he was sent to reinforce the Prussian troops in the battle of Dennewitz , where his artillery brought about the decision in favor of Prussia. In the Battle of the Nations near Leipzig, he and the Swedish artillery reserve were under Blücher's orders and made a significant contribution to the displacement of the French troops from their positions. In the same year he was promoted to major general and awarded the order Pour le Mérite by the Prussian king .

In 1816 he was promoted to General Feldzeugmeister and commander of the entire Swedish artillery, which has now been renewed according to his proposals.
