Carla Kriwet

Carla Kriwet (born March 1, 1971 in Essen ) is the chairman of the management board at BSH Hausgeräte . From February 2017 to June 2020 she was a member of the Royal Philips Board of Directors, where she heads several business units. Until November 2011 she was a member of the Executive Board for Sales and Marketing at Drägerwerk in Lübeck .

Professional background

education

In 1994 Kriwet received her diploma from the University of St. Gallen . Following her studies and as a scholarship holder of the Swiss National Fund for the Promotion of the Gifted, Kriwet did her doctorate in 1997 on the subject of "Inter- and Intraorganisational Knowledge Transfer" - also at the University of St. Gallen. For her dissertation, she completed research and project stays in India and Japan.

Career start

Before starting her studies, Kriwet worked in development aid in Burundi, Africa. Kriwet started his professional life at ABB Daimler-Benz Transportation in New Delhi in 1995 . She then moved to the Boston Consulting Group , where she managed various projects in the areas of corporate finance, healthcare, industrial goods and automobiles.

Leadership career

  • 2003 Head of Strategy and Strategic M&A at Linde AG .
  • 2005 Head of Linde's global homecare business. Two years later, she also became Global Head of Operations for Linde Healthcare.
  • 2011 Marketing and Sales Director at   Drägerwerk AG & Co KGaA.

Royal Philips

  • 2013 Head of Philips DACH and looked after the markets of the Healthcare, Lighting and Consumer Lifestyle divisions in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. 
  • 2015 Managing Director of Patient Care and Monitoring Solutions at Philips.
  • In 2017 Kriwet was appointed to the board of Royal Philips. She is Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer of the Connected Care cluster. In her position, Kriwet is responsible for leading the business groups and digital innovations in the areas of Patient Monitoring and Analytics, Therapeutic Care, Sleep and Respiratory Care, Population Health Management and Connected Care Informatics.

Private

Carla Kriwet is a daughter of Marianne and Heinz Kriwet . Her father was chairman of the board of directors of the Thyssen steel group from 1991 to 1996 and chairman of the supervisory board of Thyssen Krupp AG from 1996 to 2001.

Kriwet grew up with four siblings in Essen and Düsseldorf and completed her schooling at the Suitbertus Gymnasium . As part of her school education, she also attended the Kimball Union Academy in Meridan, USA, from 1987 to 1988. After graduating from Suitbertus Gymnasium, Carla Kriwet went to Burundi, Africa, and worked for SOS Children's Villages .

Carla Kriwet is married to Mathias Feuerstein and has three children.

Awards

In 2009 Kriwet was awarded the "Career of the Year" award for young managers. This makes her the last winner of the competition initiated by Junge Karriere and Handelsblatt .
