Carlo Martino Carlone

Carlo Martino Carlone (* around 1616 in Scaria ; † April 13, 1667 in Vienna ) was a Lombard builder.

Life

Carlo Martino Carlone came from the Carlone family of artists . He had two older siblings, Domenico and Silvestro . In 1644 Carlone's stay in Vienna is documented; but he probably came earlier. In Vienna he was the master builder of the Empress widow . The "title" refers to Eleonora , the wife of Emperor Ferdinand III.

Carlone worked closely with his uncle Giovanni Battista Carlone . After his death he took over his office and married his widow Elisabeth.

Shortly before his death in 1667, he married the daughter of the mathematician Riolli as a widower.

Works

In this building he is in charge of the baroque transformation of the formerly Gothic moated castle
Carlone is likely to have been the site manager in this case.
Together with Domenico Carlone , he oversaw the construction work on this castle .
Carlone built the Amalienburg and the Leopoldine wing together with Domenico Carlone in the years 1660/1666, which was destroyed by fire in 1668.
