Mattogno made public appearances in 1985 when he published two pseudoscientific studies for the neo-fascist publisher Sentinella d'Italia , "Il rapporto Gerstein: anatomia di un falso" (The Gerstein report - anatomy of a forgery) and "Il mito dello sterminio ebraico" ( The Myth of the Extermination of the Jews). Both publications were designed to deny the genocide in the concentration and extermination camps of the National Socialists . In his publication Bełżec - In Propaganda, Testimonies, Archeological Research, and History , translated from Italian , Mattogno claims that the Belzec extermination camp was just a “transit camp for the transfer of Jews to the East”.

In some publications he worked with the Holocaust denier Jürgen Graf . Mattogno's publications appear in English and German, among others by Castle Hill Publishers , which the Holocaust denier Germar Rudolf runs in Hastings, but also on various revisionist websites.
