Carlo Pedretti

Carlo Pedretti (born January 6, 1928 in Bologna ; † January 5, 2018 in Lamporecchio ) was an Italian art historian who was considered an expert on the works of the Italian Renaissance artist Leonardo da Vinci (1452–1519), in particular the manuscripts and notebooks of Leonardo . Pedretti authored more than 40 books on the life and work of Leonardo and more than 500 magazine articles and articles. Since 2008 he was an honorary citizen of Vinci , Leonardo's hometown. Pedretti died in January 2018, one day before his 90th birthday.
