Carlos Argentino Torres (aka Israel Vitensztein Vurm ; born June 23, 1929 in Buenos Aires ; † June 20, 1991 ibid) was an Argentine singer.

The son of Jewish immigrants began a career as a singer against his father's wishes, performed under the pseudonym Carlos Torres and, at the age of seventeen, traveled to Brazil with an orchestra. The trip ended in disaster and his father had to take him back home with the assistance of the Argentine embassy. After completing his military service, he joined the orchestra of Luis Rolero , with whom he traveled to Chile and Peru.

Then he went to Colombia with Efraín Orozco . To differentiate himself from the singer Carlos Torres , he called himself Carlos Argentino Torres , later simply Carlos Argentino . Later he also worked with the orchestras of Arnoldo Nali , Julio Cuevas and Felo Bergaza . In 1952 he performed in Havana, where he lived from 1955 until the revolution forced him to leave the country. With the Sonora Matancera he toured Colombia in 1955 and later Mexico. In 1961 he returned to Argentina.
