Carlos Briones (born June 16, 1968 in Guadalajara , Jalisco ) is a retired Mexican football player on the position of goalkeeper .

career

Briones spent most of his professional career at his hometown club UAG Tecos , with whom he won the only championship title in club history in the 1993/94 season .

With the exception of the 1996/97 season, in which he was loaned to the capital club Cruz Azul , Briones completed more than 300 stakes for the Tecos between 1987 and 2000. He later moved to Club León and then to CF La Piedad , where he was under contract for one season each, before ending his active career with CD Irapuato . He spent his first season in 2002/03 with the Freseros in the second-rate Primera División 'A' and reached the promotion finals at the end of the season against the master of the Clausura , León, who was not only his previous club, but also the arch-rival , as the Apertura champion in 2002 who is freseros. In this duel, the Freseros were able to prevail and thus managed to return to the top division , in which they were last represented in 2001.

In the period between 1993 and 1996 Briones came to a total of three international appearances for the Mexican national team .
