Carlos Canobbio (born January 7, 1982 in Montevideo ) is a Uruguayan football player .

Career

Depending on the sources, 1.83 meters or 1.84 meters tall defender Canobbio, whose full name is Carlos Alberto Canobbio Bentaberry or Carlos Fabián Canobbio Bentaberry depending on the sources , is the brother of the football player Fabián Canobbio . From the 1999/2000 season to 2004/2005 he was a member of the squad of the Uruguayan club Club Atlético Progreso . In the Apertura 2003, twelve league encounters and two goals will be led for him in the Segunda División . In the mid-season 2005 and at least the Apertura of the 2005/06 season he was in the ranks of Club Deportivo Colonia and came there in 24 games to train. Canobbio then played in Apertura 2006 five games in the Primera División for Club Atlético Rentistas . He moved to Cerro de Reyes in Spain on January 15, 2007 on loan until the end of the season . The receiving club secured a purchase option. He played in the 2006/07 season. He made his debut on February 4, 2007 against Mérida UD . His last game was dated May 27, 2007. The opponent was Jaén. In total, Canobbio was used in twelve matches in Division B. He scored a goal. This was followed by two further positions in Spain with CD Onda (2007/08) in the Tercera División, which he joined in August 2007, and with CD Buñol (2008/09). In 2012/13 there were twelve or 13 first division games and two goals, depending on the sources. He also caused two own goals in the second season. In February 2013 he suffered what was already the second cruciate ligament tear of his career. After the left knee had been affected around ten years earlier, this time the injury to his right knee overtook him. For the 2013/14 season he moved to league rivals Danubio FC . To win the Uruguayan championship that season, he contributed with seven first division appearances (no goal). In the 2014/15 season, four more completed league games (no goal) have been recorded for him. At the end of October 2015, he returned to Progreso and played nine second division games (no goal) in the 2015/16 season.
