Carlos Diernhammer

Carlos Diernhammer (born July 31, 1931 in Buenos Aires ; † May 31, 2000 in Holzkirchen (Upper Bavaria) ) was a German jazz and entertainment musician ( piano , orchestra conductor) who also arranged and composed film music. He also worked under pseudonyms as Sid Sidney, Peter Covent, Pedro Gonzalez and Charlie Steinmann .

Live and act

Diernhammer comes from a musical family (his father was the composer Hans Diernhammer (1899–1952)). He studied at the Trapp Conservatory of Music in Munich . From 1951 to 1957 he worked as a pianist in the jazz combo of Freddie Brocksieper ; between 1957 and 1961 he was the pianist of Max Greger's orchestra , for which he also arranged and whose recordings he was involved. Then he worked as a studio musician in Munich, accompanying Hanne Wieder and other chanson singers and composing light music, but also for film ( The death rays of Dr. Mabuse , headstand, madam! ) And television. Under the pseudonym Peter Covent he played several albums for Philips; as Pedro Gonzales he founded his own dance orchestra, which specialized in Latin American dances .
