Carlos Alexander Gebauer (* 1964 in Dusseldorf ) is a German lawyer , journalist and writer , who as a performer of RTL - Court show The criminal court was known where he between 2002 and 2008 in several hundred episodes as defense lawyers occurred. Career

Gebauer studied philosophy , modern history , linguistics , law and musicology in Düsseldorf , Bayreuth and Bonn . Since 1994 he has been working as a lawyer , primarily for insurance law and hospital law. In 2003 Gebauer was appointed judge at the Lawyers' Disciplinary Court for the district of the Düsseldorf Bar Association. Due to a teaching assignment for social law received in 2006 , he worked temporarily in the department of health economics at the Fresenius University in Cologne .

Since 1995 Gebauer has written socio-political and legal texts that mainly represent liberal and libertarian positions. He is a columnist for the magazine Strangely Free and a guest author for the Axis of the Good , Cicero and association magazines .

Gebauer is a member of the FDP and is deputy chairman of the Lower Rhine District Association. He was one of the initiators of a membership decision against the European stability mechanism , which narrowly failed at the end of 2011. Gebauer had six months earlier at a meeting of the Party of Reason a lecture entitled "Out of the Euro! - How a planned economy debt currency destroys wealth and morals ”. In the 2017 federal election , he ran for the FDP in the Duisburg I constituency (constituency 115) and received 7.0% of the first vote .

Gebauer is also a board member of the Hayek Society .
