Carlos Eduardo Honorato (born November 9, 1974 in São Paulo ) is a former Brazilian judoka . He was second in the 2000 Olympic Games.

The 1.75 m tall Honorato competed in the middleweight or open class until 2007 . At the end of his career, he switched to light heavyweight , but remained there without major success.

In 1994 Honorato won the Pan American Championships. In the same year he received a bronze medal at the Junior World Championships. In 1996 he won a bronze medal at the student world championships, in 1998 he won bronze there in the middleweight division and in the open class. At the 1999 World Championships he reached the semifinals with four wins, after defeats to the Japanese Hidehiko Yoshida in the semifinals and the South Korean Yoo Sung-yeon in the round of hope, he finished fifth. In July 2000 Honorato won the South American Championships. At the Olympic Games in Sydney he defeated Hidehiko Yoshida in the quarterfinals and in the semifinals he defeated the French Frédéric Demontfaucon . In the final, the Dutchman Mark Huizinga won after 3:22 minutes through Ippon. At the end of 2000 Honorato won again bronze in the open class at the student world championships.

In 2002 Honorato finished fifth at the Pan American Championships, the following year he won in front of a home crowd in Salvador when he defeated the Canadian Keith Morgan in the final. At the Pan American Games in 2003 he lost in the semifinals to Morgan and won a bronze medal. Also at the World Championships he met Keith Morgan, whom he defeated in the battle for bronze after he had lost in the quarterfinals to the South Korean Hwang Hee-tae . In April 2004 Honorato won the Pan American Championships in both middleweight and open class. At the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens , Honorato won twice and then lost the quarter-finals and the first fight of the round of hope.

In 2006 and 2007 Honorato won the Pan American Championships in the open class twice. In 2010 he ended his international career.
