Carlos López de Silanes Molina (born April 18, 1970 in Mexico City ) is a retired Mexican football player on the position of defender , who later also worked as a football coach .

career

Carlos López began his football career in the Liga Española de Fútbol , an amateur league in the greater Mexico City area, where he played for a team called Athletic de Bilbao .

In 1990 he received his first professional contract with Club Necaxa , which was then still based in the Mexican capital , with which he was under contract until 1995 and with whom he won the Mexican football championship in his last season in 1994/95 . During his time with the Necaxistas, López was also appointed to the Mexican U-23 selection and took part in the football tournament of the 1992 Summer Olympics.

After his departure from Necaxa, López only had one year stations and he was rarely used in some of them.

Trainer

After his active career, López began working as a coach and worked as an assistant coach at Club América and its farm teams CD Zacatepec and Socio Águila. In the summer of 2016, he was appointed sports director by his former club Necaxa .
