Carlos Laviada (born May 16, 1915 in Mexico City , † 1979 ) was a Mexican football player who acted in defense .

biography

Carlos Laviada began his active career in the first Mexican league in 1933 in the service of CF Asturias and came on March 18, 1934 in a World Cup qualifier against Cuba (4-1) for his first international appearance.

Between 1934 and 1936 he was under contract with the Asturian club Real Oviedo . In these two seasons he made 12 appearances in the Spanish Primera División , but always remained second choice and did not make the permanent jump into the regular formation.

When the Spanish Civil War broke out , he ended his engagement in Oviedo and went back to Mexico, where he played again for CF Asturias, with whom he won the championship in the 1938/39 season.

He then moved to CF Atlante , with whom he won another championship title in the 1940/41 season. At the beginning of the 1941/42 season Laviada was under contract with Real Club España for almost a decade and won two more championship titles in 1942 and 1945 . When Real Club España withdrew from the professional league at the end of the 1949/50 season, Laviada, now 35, ended his active career.

Between September 1937 and September 1949 Laviada came to six other missions for the Mexican national team , in which he always acted as team captain. Worth mentioning is the fact that "el Tri" won all seven games in which Laviada played.

Carlos Laviada remained in football and was interim president of the Mexican Football Association in 1974 .
