Carlos Muñoz Cobo (born August 25, 1961 in Úbeda , Andalusia ) is a former Spanish football player on the position of striker .

Life

Muñoz began his professional career in the 1983/84 season at FC Barcelona Atlètic and played in the second half of the 1984/85 season for the first division promoted FC Elche , with whom he was relegated from the Primera División as in the following season 1985/86 with Hércules Alicante .

A year later he managed to stay with the promoted Real Murcia at the end of the 1986/87 season , but experienced a "personal descent" when he was under contract with the second division Real Oviedo in 1987/88 , with whom he was immediately promoted to the football club succeeded. Although Oviedo was to be by far his longest player station, he first played for Atlético Madrid in the 1988/89 season before returning to Oviedo, where he was under contract for the next seven years until 1996.

At the end of his active career, he moved to Mexico , where he was first with Puebla FC and most recently with the Lobos de la BUAP . In his first season in Mexico he was the top scorer of the Mexican Primera División with 15 goals, which he scored in the 1996 winter tournament .

Between 1990 and 1991 Carlos Muñoz made six international appearances for the Spanish national team , in which he scored as many goals. His debut took place on September 12, 1990 in a 3-0 win against Brazil, to which he immediately contributed a goal.
