Carlos Enzo Reinoso Valdenegro (born March 7, 1945 in Santiago de Chile ) is a former Chilean football player who has lived in Mexico since 1970 and has been a football coach there since 1981 . The Chilean international began his career in Santiago de Chile with Audax Italiano , but he celebrated his greatest successes with Club América in Mexico City , the capital of the country that has been his home since then. In 1984 he also led Club America to the championship as a coach.

His son of the same name and his brother José Antonio Reinoso , who was around three years younger than him, were also active as professional football players.

Reinoso began his career in the youth teams of his home club Audax Italiano , where he was promoted to the fighting team in 1962. In 1968 he was the top scorer in the Chilean league with 21 goals. In 1970 he moved to Mexico City for Club America , for which he played until 1979 and with whom he won the championship in 1971 and 1976 and in 1974 after results of 2-1 and 1-1 in the finals. He also won the CONCACAF Champions Cup with America in 1977 - in the final the opponent was SV Robin Hood from Suriname - and in 1978 the irregular Copa Interamericana against CA Boca Juniors from Argentina. Between 1979 and 1981 he finished playing at the suburban club Deportivo Neza .

Between 1966 and 1977 he played a total of 34 times for Chile and was part of the squad at the 1974 World Cup , where he played through in all three games of the Chilean national team .

Trainer

Reinoso has been a coach since the end of his playing career and has so far only worked for Mexican clubs. He won his only championship title in 1984 with Club America, with which he was already successful as a player.
