Carlwalter shock
Carlwalter Schreck , also Carl Walter Schreck (born August 22, 1917 in Berlin , † December 24, 1981 in Berlin) was a German engineer for fluid mechanics and university professor .
Life
Schreck studied from 1938 at the Technical University of Berlin-Charlottenburg . There he became a member of the Werner von Siemens comradeship (the Berlin fraternities Primislavia and Teutonia ). After participating in the war, he continued his studies in Berlin and in 1954 was awarded a Dr.-Ing. PhD . His dissertation was entitled "Contribution to the determination of the heat flow in glass molds" .
Schreck also received his habilitation at the TU Berlin in 1961 with his thesis on the fundamentals of hydrodynamic machines . Then he was a private lecturer under Rudolf Wille for hydrodynamic flow machines at the Chair of Fluid Mechanics and the Hermann Föttinger Institute for Flow Technology at the TU Berlin.
In 1970, Schreck accepted the call to the field of hydrodynamics and hydrology in the Faculty of Civil Engineering and full professor at the TU Berlin.
