The Carmarthen Bay ( Welsh : Bae Caerfyrddin ) is a 30 km wide and 14 km long bay in the south of Wales . On the coast of the bay are a few beaches and parts of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park .
The rivers River Towy ( Welsh : Tywi ), River Taff and Gwendraeth flow into the bay, which lies on the north coast of the outer Bristol Channel and which is still assigned to the Celtic Sea . The boundaries of the bay are the island of Caldey south of Tenby and the Gower peninsula near Swansea .
