Carmen bonuses
Carmen Boni (actually Carmela Bonicatti ; born April 17, 1904 in Rome , † November 18, 1963 in Paris ) was an Italian actress .
Life
The daughter of a colonel and of "Teresa Rovere di Bergeggi" made her debut under her real name in 1919 in a film of the Roman Nova Film; after a call from Diana Karenne , her breakthrough came under stage name, under which she first appeared in Italian films in the roles of cheerful and boyish girls. After popular successes u. a. under Guglielmo Zorzi , she signed Augusto Genina , with whom she was also privately related and often filmed in the following years, and also attracted international attention with Komtess Bubikopf . In 1927 Boni was committed to Berlin and took on leading roles in German productions over the next two years.
At the beginning of the sound film era she left Germany and worked mainly in Paris. She has now been seen in a number of Paramount Pictures language-version films and commuted several times between her native country and her adopted home until she finally moved to France in 1936. In 1938 she married the actor Jean Rigaux . Only a few films followed; in her last film from human to human about Henri Dunant , she played a countess.
Boni was killed in a road accident in 1963.
