action

Prince Boris Kurbsky, the Tsar's adjutant, is on a train ride in the direction of St. Petersburg. In his compartment he met the young aristocratic foreigner Helena di Armore. As a gentleman of the old school, he lends a hand when she is found without papers during an ID check at the border. He claims that the young lady is his wife and thus frees her from further annoying controls. The prince knows absolutely nothing about her, not even that, as a staunch nihilist , she is involved in a plot to which the tsar himself is supposed to fall victim.

The adjutant can prevent Helena from shooting his supreme superior as instructed, but still cannot avoid being arrested as a possible accomplice. Helena di Armore is abducted by her own people, but finally freed by Kurbski. With the help of the Russian police minister, the prince, who loves Helena, can get her out of the country again and thus to safety. Prince Kurbsky, the Tsar's adjutant, remains alone.

Reviews

Paimann's film lists summed up: “The subject, which was initially a bit too broad, later gains in speed and tension and offers Mosjoukin, who does an excellent job, a grateful role. The bonuses are less favorable ... The direction leads the ensemble skilfully and ensures real drawing of the milieu and an impressive presentation. "
