Carmen Brussig

Carmen Brussig (born May 20, 1977 in Leipzig ) is a German judoka - disabled athlete . She won several world, European and German championship titles in disabled sports.

Life

Carmen Brussig and her twin sister Ramona , also judoka, start for the judo club PSV Schwerin . Carmen Brussig was a pastry chef by profession , but was no longer able to practice this profession due to her progressive visual impairment.

Brussig won the bronze medal at the 2008 Paralympics in Beijing . The Brussig twins caused a sensation at the 2012 Paralympics when they won gold in their respective weight classes on the same day. They were the first to win the gold medal for Germany during the Paralympics . In Seoul, Carmen Brussig was able to fight for her third world title and thus led the world rankings of the International Blind Sports Association (IBSA) up to 48 kg.
