The Carnwath River is the largest tributary of the Anderson River in the Canadian Northwest Territories .

The Carnwath River forms the drain of Tadek Lake , about 25 miles west of Colville Lake . It flows in a predominantly north-northwest direction through the tundra landscape and takes the tributaries Iroquois River and Wolverine River from the left. In the lower reaches the river turns east. The Andrew River meets the Carnwath River from the right. Finally, the Carnwath River flows into the Anderson River on the left. The catchment area of the Carnwath River covers approximately 21,500 km². The mean discharge near its mouth at the gauge below the Andrew River is 47 m³ / s.

The river is named after the Scottish town of Carnwath .
