Carol Queen (* 1957 ) is an American author, editor and sexologist. She is a sex-positive feminism advocate and an LGBT activist.

Carol Queen studied Sociology at the University of Oregon and holds a Ph. D. in Sexology from the Institute for Advanced Study of Human Sexuality in San Francisco , whose degrees are not officially recognized. In 1975 she helped found GAYouth in Eugene , Oregon , one of the earliest gay and lesbian youth organizations. She was the chairman of the gay and lesbian student association at her university and stood up for the rights of homosexuals as a member of the Eugene Citizens for Human Rights . She writes both novels and non-fiction books, as well as several columns that have appeared in Spectator Magazine and Playboy Online, among others .

Queen is a board member and responsible sexologist for the sex shop chain Good Vibrations . In this role she teaches the company's staff and runs workshops on sexual issues. She promoted pegging as a sexual practice and designed an instructional video series on the subject entitled Bend Over Boyfriend , in which she also played the lead role.

Together with co-editor Lawrence Schimel, she received the Lambda Literary Award in the Transgender category for PoMoSexuals: Challenging Assumptions about Gender and Sexuality in 1998 .

Together with Robert Morgan Lawrence , she founded the Center for Sex and Culture in 2004 , which cooperates with Good Vibrations and for which she also holds workshops.
