Carola von Paczensky

Carola von Paczensky (completely Carola von Paczensky and Tenczin , born May 24, 1958 in Hamburg ) is a German political officer . From 2008 to November 2010 she was State Councilor in the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg .

Life and work

Carola von Paczensky was born as the daughter of the journalist and author Gert von Paczensky and the journalist Susanne von Paczensky . After graduating from high school in Bremen in 1976, Paczensky studied law in Hamburg. After the first state examination in 1983, the legal traineeship in Hamburg and Albany followed and in 1987 the second state examination. In 1988 she was admitted to the bar. In 1992 she was appointed judge on probation and assigned to the Hamburg Administrative Court . She has been a judge at the Hamburg Administrative Court since 1994.

From 1996 to 1999 she was seconded to the Federal Constitutional Court in Karlsruhe, where she was a research assistant to Judge Renate Jaeger . From 2000 to 2002 she acted as press spokeswoman for the Federal Constitutional Court. From September 2004 until her appointment as State Councilor, Paczensky was also a judge at the Hamburg Constitutional Court .

From May 9, 2008 to November 30, 2010 Paczensky was an independent State Councilor in the judicial authority led by Till Steffen ( GAL ) . She only joined the Green Party after her term in office.
