Caroline Claire (born February 2, 2000 in Wilmington ) is an American freestyle skier . She starts in the disciplines of slopestyle and big air .

Career

Claire has been participating in FIS and AFP World Tour competitions since 2014 . She achieved her first podium finish in January 2015 at the USSA Revolution Tour in Seven Springs with second place in slopestyle . At the Junior World Championships 2015 in Chiesa in Valmalenco , she won the bronze medal in slopestyle. In January 2016, she made her debut in Mammoth in the Freestyle Skiing World Cup , finishing tenth in slopestyle and second in slopestyle on the USSA Revolution Tour in Mammoth that same month . In March 2016 she came third and first in slopestyle on the USSA Revolution Tour in Winter Park and won in slopestyle at the Nor Am Cup and at the same time USSA Revolution Tour in Seven Springs .

After finishing two and one in slopestyle at the USSA Revolution Tour in Waterville Valley at the beginning of the 2016/17 season, Claire achieved her first podium finish in the World Cup with third place in slopestyle at the World Cup on the Seiser Alm . In March 2017 she won the slopestyle at the US Revolution Tour in Seven Springs and at the Carinthia Open on Mount Snow . At the 2017 Junior World Championships in Chiesa in Valmalenco, she won the bronze medal in slopestyle. In the 2017/18 season she took third place in Slopestyle in Stubai and Mammoth and won her first World Cup victory in Slopestyle on the Alpe di Siusi. At the season highlight, the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang , she came in 23rd place in slopestyle. She finished the season in 26th place in the overall World Cup and third in the Slopestyle World Cup. At the beginning of the 2018/19 season she finished second in Big Air at the World Cup in Cardrona . This was followed by three top ten placements and eighth place in the Slopestyle World Cup at the end of the season. She finished 16th in Big Air at the 2019 World Championships in Park City . The following season, she was sixth in the Slopestyle World Cup. She won her second World Cup victory in slopestyle on the Alpe di Siusi. At the Winter X Games 2020 in Aspen , she finished seventh in slopestyle.
