Caroline Werner (* April 8, 1996 as Caroline Übelhör ) is a German tennis player .

Career

Werner mainly plays tournaments on the ITF Women's Circuit . She played her first tournament in July 2011 in Darmstadt . She celebrated her first successes in June 2014 when she reached the round of 16 at the tournaments in Lenzerheide and Stuttgart-Vaihingen and only lost 3: 6 and 3: 6 to the Russian Alena Tarasova in the final of the $ 10,000 tournament in Helsinki . Four years later, in September 2018, she won her first ITF tournament in Dobrich . After successfully qualifying, she had to defeat three seeded players in the main round with Elena-Gabriela Ruse , Jaqueline Cristian and in the final Giulia Gatto-Monticone , all of whom were placed in the top 300 in the world rankings . With this victory Werner was able to improve significantly from 619 to 412 in the world rankings.

In 2015 Werner played in the German Bundesliga for TC Rüppurr Karlsruhe . In 2016 she started for the TC Radolfzell in the 2nd division , which she accompanied back to the 1st tennis league after a successful promotion in 2017 . The following year she returned to TC Rüppurr Karlsruhe and took second place with him.
