Carpasio (in Ligurian : Carpàsiu ) is a northern Italian village and former municipality with last 163 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2016) in the Liguria region . Politically it belongs to the province of Imperia .

With effect from January 1, 2018, the municipality merged with the municipality of Montalto Ligure to form the new municipality of Montalto Carpasio .

Carpasio lies east of the upper section of the Valle Argentina . The municipality belonged to the now dissolved Comunità Montana Argentina Armea and is about 36 kilometers from the provincial capital Imperia .
