Montalto Carpasio is a northern Italian municipality with 560 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Liguria region . Politically it belongs to the province of Imperia .

The municipality was created on January 1, 2018 from the merger of the formerly independent municipalities of Montalto Ligure and Carpasio . The seat of the municipal administration is in the town hall of Carpasio.
