Caravonica (in Ligurian : Cairònega ) is a northern Italian municipality with 265 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the Liguria region . Politically it belongs to the province of Imperia .

Caravonica is located on the slopes of the Colle di San Bartolomeo , a pass crossing to the Valle Arroscia . The municipality belongs to the Comunità Montana dell'Olivo and is about 16 kilometers from the provincial capital Imperia .
