Camporosso (in Ligurian : Campurùssu ) is a northern Italian municipality with 5616 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the Liguria region . Politically it belongs to the province of Imperia and is located in the metropolitan area of Ventimiglia .

geography

Camporosso is located in the outermost Riviera di Ponente , on the Riviera dei Fiori between Sanremo and Monaco . Historically, the municipality is the first village in the Val Nervia and belongs to the Comunità Montana Intemelia .

With its 300 meters of beach, Camporosso has been awarded the Blue Flag annually since 2001 and is listed in the Guida Blu of the environmental organization Legambiente . Of particular interest are the natural oasis along the mouth of the Nervia River and the Camporosso beach, which has been upgraded by the local government.

According to the Italian classification for seismic activity , the municipality was assigned to zone 3. This means that Camporosso is in a seismically less active zone.
