history
The origins of the Carrera y Carrera company go back to 1885 when Saturio Esteban Carrera opened a small jewelry workshop in Barrio de las Letras . José Esteban Carrera , Saturio's son, gets to know the jewelry trade in Paris . After returning to Spain, he continued the family tradition and opened a workshop in Madrid in 1920 . Since he remained childless, he trained his four nephews José , Saturio , Pedro and Andrés as jewelers . In the 1970s, great-grandchildren Manuel Carrera and Juan José Carrera established the brand, later the company changed hands several times. In 2010 it was acquired by a group of unnamed Russian investors. The turnover this year was 20 million euros, in 2011 22 million euros, 2012 24 million euros and 2013 26 million euros. Chinese tourists generate half of sales worldwide.

The company is headquartered in San Agustín del Guadalix . In 1979 Carrera y Carrera expanded to the United States and in 1994 to Russia . In 2013 the company opened its first boutique in China . It is represented in over 40 countries and has offices in New York , Tokyo , Moscow and the United Arab Emirates .
