Carson Davidson

Carson Davidson (born June 24, 1924 in Washington, DC , † September 29, 2016 ) was an American film director , producer and screenwriter .

Career

Davidson's film career began in 1955 as a film producer on the short film 3rd Ave. El in which he also made his directorial debut. For this work he received an Oscar nomination in the category “Best Short Film (1 film role)” at the subsequent Academy Awards . Edmund Reek received the award for his film Survival City . In 1965 he released the documentary Railway with a Heart of Gold and the short film Help! My Snowman's Burning Down for which he was nominated for a second Oscar. In his second Oscar nomination, this time he had to admit defeat against the contribution Casals Conducts: 1964 by Edward Schreiber . Before he left the film business, he worked on three other films as a director and producer.

Davidson wrote a total of three scripts for his self-produced films Railway with a Heart of Gold , Help! My Snowman's Burning Down and The Wrong Damn Film .

Davidson was married to children's book author Margaret Davidson . Davidson died in 2016 at the age of 92.
