Carsten Bjerregaard (born August 12, 1970 ) is a former Austrian soccer player and today's coach with Danish roots .

origin

Carsten Bjerregaard's parents emigrated from Aarhus in the mid-1960s and went to Austria. Father Jørn "Johnny" Bjerregaard had a (professional) contract with Rapid Vienna . Carsten Bjerregaard was born in Austria in 1970. After his father ended his career at SC Eisenstadt in 1975, Carsten Bjerregaard and his parents went to their Danish homeland a short time later. A few years later he returned to Austria with his family and settled here.

Player career

Bjerregaard played 40 Bundesliga games for Vienna FC and Admira Wacker Mödling . After that he played for the city rivals VfB Mödling , SV Stockerau , ASK Kottingbrunn , SV Schwechat and for 1. SC Sollenau .

Unlike his father Jørn, Carsten Bjerregaard played for the national teams of Austria . However, it was only enough to play for the Olympic national team.

Coaching career

From 2008 to 2011 Bjerregaard coached the 1st SC Sollenau. After retiring from football for almost ten years - his time at Sollenau ended in January 2011, he had his last game for the club on November 12, 2010 - Bjerregaard celebrated his comeback in October 2019 when he coached the ASK Eggendorf was presented with game operations in the 2.
