Carsten Heinichen (* 1968 ) is a former German basketball player . During his career, the 1.86 meter tall player played for TV Langen and BCJ Hamburg in the basketball league .

Heinichen, who comes from the youth department of the EK Karlsruhe sports club and also played for SSC Karlsruhe in the 1980s , switched to TV Langen in 1990 and played there in the 1989/90 basketball league . In 1994/95 he played in the United States for the team at Brigham Young University . From 1995 Heinichen played for BCJ Hamburg  in the second division, in 1999 he was promoted to the Bundesliga. In the Hanseatic city, he acted as team captain. In the 1999/2000 season he scored an average of 6.6 points for Hamburg in 28 games, in the 2000/01 season it was an average of 2.9 points per match in 16 appearances before he joined the second division SC Rist in February 2001 Wedel moved, where he ran up until the end of the season.

Trainer

After the end of his playing career, Heinichen was active as coach of the men's team of the BG Hamburg-West in the second regional league between 2013 and 2016. He was also the school sports officer for the Hamburg Basketball Association.
