Carsten Püttmann

Carsten Püttmann (born May 15, 1970 in Emmerich ) is a German mathematician and teacher as well as the author of educational and didactic textbooks and specialist books.

Career

Püttmann studied mathematics, education, economics, philosophy, psychology and evangelical theology. After graduating as a graduate mathematician, he passed his 1st and 2nd state exams and received his doctorate. phil. with the dissertation hypercyclical teacher training .

He worked as a lecturer at the Universities of Münster , Dortmund and Paderborn and as director of studies at the college for social pedagogy at the vocational college of the Marienschule Lippstadt.

From 2014 to 2015, he held a substitute professorship for the Chair of Education and Upbringing in Childhood at the TU Dortmund . He is co-editor of the Didactica Nova and Didactics of Pedagogy book series . In 2013, Püttmann launched the educational initiative for educational teaching (WIPU) for the Association of Educational Teachers (VdP) . He has been chairman of the VdP since 2016. He has been its deputy chairman since the Society Didactics of Education (GeDiPäd) was founded in 2014.

He deals with questions of teacher training , in particular with questions of subject didactics in the subject (social) pedagogy and general didactics , as well as with questions of early childhood education .

His learning theory considerations are based on the idea that learning is a self-organization process built on irritation. In doing so, Püttmann draws on the theory of autocatalytic hypercycles as an original concept of self-organization and derives didactic-methodical building blocks from a systemic-constructivist perspective for teacher training at universities as well as the technical college training of educators, which create a connection between personality and action-oriented didactic approaches .
