Carsten Paulun

Carsten Paulun (born February 26, 1967 in Hamburg ) is a German journalist and reporter .

Career

Paulun has been working as a car journalist, test driver and reporter since 1990. After training as an industrial clerk, he moved to Axel Springer Verlag in 1990 , first as a freelance editor at Auto Bild , then as a trainee at the BILD newspaper. In 1995 he took over the management of the Motor + Technology department at the BILD newspaper as the responsible editor. In 2001 he became deputy head of the car, motor and technology department at BILD and BILD am SONNTAG . In 2008 he assumed sole responsibility for the department at BILD, and from 2012 to 2015 he was also responsible for the author department at BILD am SONNTAG. In addition, he was responsible for awarding the Golden Steering Wheel for BILD am SONNTAG . His driving reports, vehicle tests and reports have been published by Auto Bild, Auto Bild Reisemobil, BILD, BILD am SONNTAG, BILD Week , WELT am SONNTAG and their online editions. In addition to text work, Paulun also publishes photos and video contributions, including travel reports.

After leaving Axel Springer, Paulun founded the PSP67 agency in 2015. She advises international automobile manufacturers and automotive suppliers as well as advertising and marketing agencies. Paulun also advises non-governmental organizations on issues relating to crisis communication. Paulun lives in Ahrensburg near Hamburg.

Awards and records

  • Paulun was awarded the Joseph Ströbl Prize for Road Safety in 1998 by the then Bavarian Minister of the Interior, Günther Beckstein .
  • In 1997, together with Gerhard Plattner , Paulun set the record for the fastest north-south crossing of the USA in an Audi A8 (4 days, 11 hours, 38 minutes).
  • Also together with Plattner, Paulun set the record in May 1993 for the most car kilometers driven with just one tank of fuel (Audi 100 2.5 TDI, 2800.4 km with one tank of fuel (80 liters), 41 km / h average speed, 2.8 liters / 100 km average consumption).
