Carsten Preuss

Carsten Preuß (* 1962 in Luckenwalde ) is a German politician without a party who runs for the Left Party in elections. Since May 6, 2018, he has been a member of the Brandenburg state parliament in its 6th legislature .

Political career

Preuss is active in local politics and has been a member of the parliamentary assembly of the Left Party of the city council in Zossen since 2008 . In 2017 he ran unsuccessfully as a direct candidate for Die Linke for the German Bundestag . In addition to his political activities, Preuß is chairman of the Brandenburg regional association of the Federation for the Environment and Nature Conservation Germany (BUND).

On May 6, 2018, Preuß moved up to replace René Wilke in the state parliament, as he resigned his state parliament mandate as Lord Mayor of the city of Frankfurt (Oder) . He is vice-chairman of the Committee on Budget and Finance and a member of the Committee on Rural Development, Environment and Agriculture. Within the parliamentary group, Preuss took on tasks that corresponded to his committee membership and thus represented his parliamentary group as spokesman for budget, finances and the environment.

Private

Carsten Preuß worked in the administration of the Teltow-Fläming district before he moved to the state parliament.
