The Carterknattane ( Norwegian are) a group of small Nunatakker in East Antarctic Coats Land . They rise up in Pioneers Escarpment in the far east of the Shackleton Range .
Scientists at the Norwegian Polar Institute named it in 1990 after John Francis Carter (* 1945) of the British Antarctic Survey , who was involved in the exploration of the Shackleton Range between November 1968 and November 1969.
