Alexander Bernhard von Tresckow (born December 13, 1805 in Groß-Wanzleben , † March 2, 1878 in Berlin ) was a Prussian lieutenant general .

Life

Alexander was a son of the Prussian lieutenant colonel Karl August von Tresckow (1779-1845) and his wife Wilhelmine, née Countess Henckel von Donnersmarck (1777-1847), divorced from Gansauge . His brother Udo von Tresckow (1808–1885) was also a Prussian general, as was his half-brother Hermann von Gansauge (1798–1871).

Career

Tresckow visited the cadet houses in Potsdam and Berlin . Subsequently, on October 13, 1822, he was transferred to the 12th Hussar Regiment of the Prussian Army as a NCO . On June 12, 1826 he was transferred to the 7th Cuirassier Regiment while being promoted to Second Lieutenant . From 1832 to 1834 Tresckow was assigned to the teaching squadron and in 1838 to the remonte purchase commission in Prussia. By the beginning of October 1848 he was promoted to Rittmeister and squadron chief . Tresckow was promoted to major on June 3, 1856 and as a regular staff officer in the 4th Uhlan Regiment . This was followed by a use in the Guard Cuirassier Regiment from May 16, 1857 to February 11, 1859 . Then Tresckow was initially commissioned to lead the 2nd Dragoons Regiment and on June 11, 1859 he was appointed commander of this regiment. In this position he rose to the rank of colonel until mid-October 1861 and on the occasion of the festival he received the Order of the Red Eagle III in January 1863 . Class with a bow. Commissioned on March 25, 1863 with the command of the 13th Cavalry Brigade , Tresckow received the Order of Saint Anne II on September 24, 1864 and became Brigade Commander on April 18, 1865 and the Order of the Crown on October 19, 1865 Second class excellent. Promoted to major general on June 15, 1866 , he took part in the battles near Dermbach , Kissingen , Laufach , Aschaffenburg , Tauberbischofsheim , Gerchsheim and Würzburg during the German War in 1866 in the Main Army . For his work, Tresckow was awarded the Order of the Red Eagle, 2nd class with oak leaves and swords, on September 20, 1866. In approval of his leave request Tresckow was on April 7. 1868 under the star ceremony for Red Eagle II Class with oak leaves and swords on rings with board for disposition made.

After his departure, Tresckow received the character of Lieutenant General on January 22, 1876. He was an honorary knight of the Order of St. John and died on March 2, 1878 in Berlin.

family

Tresckow married on July 5, 1840 in Demker Agnes von Arnstedt (1818-1842). The daughter Emma Charlotte Karoline (* 1841) emerged from the marriage and married Timon von Renthe-Fink († 1866) in 1863.

After the death of his first wife, he married Marie Wolf (1826–1873) on November 30, 1863 in Landsberg an der Warthe , with whom he had the following children:
