Caryn Jami Kadavy (born December 9, 1967 in Erie , Pennsylvania ) is a former American figure skater who started in a single run .

Kadavy reached the podium in US championships from 1985 to 1988 , but never became a champion. In 1986 she took part in her first world championship and finished eighth. Just one year later she was able to win a world championship medal at the world championships in Cincinnati with bronze behind Katarina Witt and compatriot Debi Thomas . It was to be her only medal, as she finished seventh at her last World Cup a year later. In 1988 she played her only Olympic Games in Calgary. In sixth place after the compulsory and short program, she had to give up due to illness before the freestyle. Kadavy trained with Carlo Fassi at the Broadmoor Skating Club and before the 1987/88 season also for a short time with Toller Cranston .

After the end of her amateur career, she switched to the professionals in 1988 and was regularly seen in ice revues in the 1990s and the beginning of the following decade. Today she works as a trainer in her hometown of Erie.
