The Río Casaño (Asturian: Ríu Casañu ) is an approximately 14 km long tributary of the Río Cares in the mountains of the Picos de Europa in the autonomous region of Asturias in northern Spain .

The Río Casaño rises in the mountains of the Picos de Europa and runs first in a northeastern, then in an easterly direction. After only about 14 kilometers it flows into the Río Cares at Las Arenas .

Attractions

The upper reaches of the river are particularly attractive; one of the most beautiful hiking trails in the region begins in the village of La Molina. The Puente Pompedru , a small medieval bridge, crosses a narrow gorge of the river only about 200 meters south of the village.
