Casa Baltasar (Charo)

The Casa Baltasar in Charo , a district of the Spanish municipality of La Fueva in the province of Huesca in the autonomous community of Aragon , was built in the 16th century. The fortified house is classified as a Bien de Interés Cultural ( architectural monument ).

The Casa Baltasar is a typical example of a fortified building with towers in the region Alto Aragón , the northern Aragon in the Pyrenees . In the 16th century, the region was marked by political and social conflicts. At the same time, gangs made the area unsafe.

The arched entrance of the house also forms the only access to the fortified village, which consists of only one alley. The five-story defense tower on the northeast side of Casa Baltasar was built on a square floor plan.
