Caspar Wrede (Canon)

Caspar Wrede (* in the 15th or 16th century; † May 14, 1570 ) was canon in Münster .

Life

Caspar Wrede was the son of Dietrich Wrede zu Mielinghausen and his wife Ilse von der Borch . On March 21, 1529 Jasparus Wrede is mentioned as a member of the cathedral chapter . In February 1552 it was owned by the Archdeaconate of Borken. On April 7th, 1557 it came into the possession of the provost office of St. Ludgeri in Münster with the associated archdeacon of Winterswijk. On the same day he renounced the office in Winterswijk in favor of Dietrich von der Recke. After the death of Johann Morrien , Caspar received the archdeaconate Billerbeck on July 4, 1562 and remained in this office until his death. After the death of Canon Wilbrand von Schagen , he became cathedral senior. He lived with his maid Aleke in a concubinage from which four sons and two daughters emerged.
