The de Casparis family is an old Graubünden family from Latsch and Filisur .

The de Casparis family is divided into two branches that are seen as a single family.

Branch from Laces

The family name was originally Chiaspàr, Caspar, Casper, Casparis since the 18th century. The name Clo, from the German Klaus, is a common part of the family name, e.g. B. "Caspar dil Clo Chiaspar". The elevation to the nobility cannot be specified in the time. Johann Anton Casparis senior (1808–1877) and Johann Anton Casparis junior were national councilors of the Canton of Graubünden .

Filisur branch

Magistrate Pol Caspar the Old moved from Bergün to Filisur in the middle of the 15th century. From 1549 his descendants are cited as bailiffs in Bergün with the family name Polcaspar. Paulus Polcaspar (born 1640 - died 1706), steward of Jean Rodolphe de Tavel, seigneur de Cuarnens, was the first member of the Polcaspar family to use the name Casparis. He is therefore the progenitor of the noble Casparis from Filisur.
