Castelani
The Castelani or Castellani ( Greek Καστελλανοί Kastellanoi ) were an Iberian people of the Hispania Tarraconensis in ancient times who lived at the foot of the Pyrenees .
It is probably not the Iberian name of the people, but a name used by the Romans , which is derived from the Roman fort (Latin castellum ) of Emporiae .
Their main places were:
- Sebendunum ( Σεβένδοννον )
- Beseda ( Βέσηδα ), today Sant Joan de les Abadesses
- Egosa ( Ἐγῶσα )
- Basi ( Βάσι )
