The Castle Rock ( English for Burgfels ) is a rock that towers 7 km northeast of the southern tip of the Hut Point Peninsula in the southwest of the Antarctic Ross Island . With a height of 413 m , it is the highest point on this peninsula.
It was given its descriptive name by the British polar explorer Robert Falcon Scott on the Discovery Expedition he led (1901–1904).
