Catherine Ashcroft (born April 8, 1988 in Halifax (West Yorkshire) ) is an English musician of the Irish Folk genre .

She plays the flute and uillean pipes . She has mastered the instruments self-taught.

Career and discography

2008 Catherine Ashcroft took "Take Flight and Follow" ( "Take the flight and follow [him]") her first CD in the Stenkrith studios in Kirkby Stephen on. There she met the Belfast songwriter , multi-instrumentalist and singer Maurice Dickson , with whom she has since formed the group " Mochara ", which performs Celtic music . The Irish name means "my friend" in German . Together Ashcroft and Dickson have been three albums released: "In Your Blood" ( "In your / your blood" , 2010), "Spirits and Dreamers" ( "ghosts and dreams" , 2013) and "Live at the Iceland" ( " Live [= directly] on the island ” or “ [to] live on the island ” , 2015).

Appearances

Ashcroft toured in 2017 / '18 with Riverdance by China .

Awards

In 2007 she won the British All Britain Awards for flute and uillean pipes at national level .
