Catherine-Henriette Bellier, comtesse de Beauvais (* 1614 - † June 7, 1689 in the Hôtel de Beauvais in Paris ), also known as Cateau la Borgnesse or Madame de Beauvais , was a chambermaid at the royal court and mistress of the French King Louis XIV.

Life

Catherine-Henriette was Martin Bellier's daughter. She married the Comte Pierre de Beauvais († 1685). She was the first chambermaid and confidante of the French Queen Anna of Austria .

Madame de Beauvais was not a beauty, but she introduced her son, Louis XIV, to love on behalf of the Queen Mother (1657). She seems to have done it with success, because much later she was received again and again by the Sun King and received a pension of 2000 livres from him . Her residence was the Hôtel de Beauvais in what is now the 4th arrondissement
