Cavalões is a place and a former municipality ( freguesia ) in northern Portugal .
Cavalões belongs to the Vila Nova de Famalicão district in the Braga district . The community had an area of 5.5 km² and 1535 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011).
On September 29, 2013 the municipalities of Cavalões, Outiz and Gondifelos were merged to form the new municipality of União das Freguesias de Gondifelos, Cavalões e Outiz .
