Osvaldo Cavandoli
Osvaldo Cavandoli (born January 1, 1920 in Maderno , † March 3, 2007 in Milan ) was an Italian animator and honorary citizen of Milan. He became internationally known with his cartoon character La Linea .
biography
Cavandoli was born in Maderno on Lake Garda . He was two years old when the family moved to Milan, where he grew up.
From 1936 to 1940 he worked as a technical designer for Alfa Romeo . From 1943 he began to be increasingly interested in animation ; he became a studio draftsman for the animator Nino Pagot . In 1950 he became self-employed as a director and producer .
Cavandoli became known worldwide through the simple graphic concept of La Linea , which he created in 1969 and marketed as short stories and in TV and cinema commercials from 1972 . In 1978 and 1988, two award-winning short films were made with La sexilinea and Eroslinea .
