The defending champion was Nicol David , who won the tournament again this year. In the final she defeated Jenny Duncalf 11: 7, 11: 6, 12:14 and 11: 4. This was their third consecutive title win at this tournament.
The field of participants in the women's competition consisted of 16 players, four of which were starting places for qualifiers. Per Wildcard received Marlene West a spot in the main draw.
At the tournament, the following prize money and world ranking points were paid out or credited for reaching the respective round. Players who entered the main field from qualification received the specified qualification points in addition to those for reaching the respective round.
